Description
Server software for Maltese firms
Running a company network from an office server room or a private cloud? Windows Server Standard is Microsoft's server operating system for small and medium-sized businesses. It brings user management, shared folders, printing and the hosting of websites and applications into a single product.
If you want to buy Windows Server Standard in Malta, TresBizz of Brussels offers genuine new licences for the 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025 editions, so you can match the licence to what you already run or to a deployment you are planning.
What you get
- Active Directory: keeps user accounts and computer records in one place and keeps access under control.
- File sharing: colleagues reach common folders through the built-in file service.
- Printing: the print role helps manage the printers on your network.
- Web hosting: Internet Information Services (IIS) runs web and application services.
- Hyper-V: Standard allows two virtual machines alongside the Hyper-V host, as long as every physical processor core in the machine is licensed.
- Built-in protection: each edition carries the security functions of its own year.
Who it suits
This edition is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises that look after their own IT. If your team needs directory services, shared folders, printer handling, IIS hosting or a modest Hyper-V setup, Standard fits well. The big gain is a single point of administration: accounts and devices are handled in Active Directory instead of scattered lists. For a far larger virtual estate, look at Datacenter instead.
Licence options
Every licence on offer is new and perpetual. You pay once and there is no subscription. Windows Server 2025 is the latest edition and the recommended pick for new deployments, with security updates until 2034. The 2022 edition is updated until 14 October 2031 and 2019 until 9 January 2029. Support for Windows Server 2016 ends on 12 January 2027.
Microsoft counts physical processor cores. All of them must be covered, with at least 8 core licences per processor and 16 per server. Client Access Licences (CALs) for the people or devices that connect are not included. Email us your core total and expected users or devices, and we will point you to the right coverage.

Your questions answered
Which edition should I pick?
For a new deployment we recommend Windows Server 2025, with security updates until 2034. The 2022 edition suits existing setups and is updated until 14 October 2031. Version 2019 runs until 9 January 2029, and 2016 loses support on 12 January 2027.
How many virtual machines does Standard allow?
Two, alongside the Hyper-V host, provided all physical cores are licensed. For a much larger number of virtual machines, consider Datacenter.
Are CALs part of the licence?
No. Client Access Licences are an extra requirement for each person or device connecting to the server. Email us and we will help you work out quantities.
How many core licences do I need?
All physical processor cores must be covered, at least 8 per processor and 16 per server. Send us your server specification by email.
What if my key will not activate?
Tell us by email. If the key we supplied does not activate, we replace it or refund you.
